Arrie Arcega

My artwork celebrates the ethereal beauty of nature’s wildlife and human form through illustration and painting. My inspiration for my work primarily comes from fictional stories I grew to love during my adolescent years, like films, animation, webcomics, and fairytales. I often feature young female characters as the center point in most illustrations because of my deep appreciation for their strength, unwavering determination, and compassion. They bridge the divide between the mundane and the fantastical by adding the warmth of meaningful human connection and showing fearlessness without abandoning the power of femininity in their environments.

During my process, I create through the interplay of multiple traditional mediums, such as ink, watercolor, gouache, acrylic, and oil, to display striking combinations of color and natural light within my works. Additionally, I will often incorporate digital media into my process, like drawing through my iPad and photography for reference photos. By observing my surroundings, I transport viewers into these whimsical environments, inviting them to experience the serenity of the world and highlighting the tenderness of everyday moments.
